Farm Values Drop

Values of Iowa farmland have dropped 7% from January to April. That drop follows a 6% drop in value in the fourth quarter of 2008 with an overall drop of 7.6% from September 2008 to March of this year.
These drops in value come after a steady increase between 1999 and the first half of 2009. The economy and issues with the ethanol and biofuel market have led to these declines in value, affecting farmers across the state.
