Iowa nurses in contract dispute with hospital

Posted on June 30th, 2010 No Comments

Union nurses at a hospital in Sioux City, Iowa have rejected the last contract offer and their current contract expires shortly.

They have said that they will not being going on a strike and will continue working a normal schedule until they can come to an agreement. Earlier this week, the nurses voted on the latest offer and 205 voted no and 12 voted yes.

The largest issue between the two sides are regarding pay and benefits. Other issues, such as security, they have similar views. A 60-day  extension of the contract has been set up so an agreement can be worked out.
