Alliant Energy Corporation is making arrangements to end an ongoing federal lawsuit with U.S. Bank. A spokesperson for the Wisconsing energy company, which has electric and natural gas utilities in Iowa, the company plans to buy back debt that was used to finance a previous investment in McLeodUSA.
The buyback would help Alliant consolidate its business, which has shrunk in the past few years as the company has mostly divested of its international assets. The consolidation would further allow Alliant to focus on its operations in Wisconsin and Iowa.
